According to the agent of Radu Drăgușin, Newcastle United are showing interest in the Genoa centre-back ahead of the January transfer window.
Last week, the defender’s representative – Florin Manea – said he’d had a “meeting with Newcastle” over the 21-year-old, and he’s now spoken to the Romanian press about his future.
After impressing since sealing a permanent move from Juventus, Manea believes that it’ll take €30m to sign Dragusin; who has been tipped to seal a big move in the summer.
His agent discusses his relationship with Dan Ashworth – who he’s worked with previously and known “since 2009” – and states that we are one of several “big clubs in England” who are watching the 6ft 3′ talent.
Here’s what the player’s agent told Fanatik about the towering center-back, saying an official offer is “coming” after interest from Newcastle:
“Genoa don’t want to give him now, but in the summer yes. If they get the price they want, you realise it’s a lot of money. Genoa want €30m, they said directly,”
“I don’t think there is anyone in Italy who would give this amount of €30m. I talked about the Premier League area, I talked about Newcastle, but they are not the only ones, there are several teams I am talking to.”
“The director (Dan Ashworth) with whom I made [a deal for] Tamaș at West Brom is now at Newcastle. We have known each other since 2009. They are also watching him, but also other big clubs in England.
“There’s no official offer yet, but it’s coming. It will be a pleasant surprise when it arrives.”
